This article deals with the topic of impact energy—more specifically, why it makes sense to allow adjustments here.

In colloquial language, ambitious shooters often refer to the hardness of the primer cap. What they mean is that different primer caps require different amounts of energy to ignite due to their composition. This has a direct effect on the ignition mechanism of an action, as it must provide the necessary energy.

One might think of using a sufficiently strong spring that simply meets all requirements—unfortunately, practice shows that this is not the case. In fact, the impact energy provided plays an extremely important role in the force required to open the struck system. Our tests have shown that approximately 40% of the impact energy should be variable in order to meet all customer requirements. This is the only way to ensure that the lock mechanism requires minimal force to engage and that it operates reliably.

The ignition mechanism of the A30 can be adapted to customer preferences by using different springs and additionally by installing spacer rings. Values between 47% and 100% can be achieved. Experience has shown that "soft" ignition caps can already be used at approx. 60%. The publication on the test can be downloaded below.
